A multimedia journalism training conference for the ethnic media, community media and nonprofits
Renaissance Journalism invites you to LearningLAB, our third multimedia journalism training conference. This one-day event is designed to help you fine-tune your digital storytelling skills; learn about best practices and free tools to improve your reporting and social media strategies; and delve into important national issues that have a profound impact on your local communities.
SPACE IS LIMITED! Please register early to ensure your spot. We anticipate having a waiting list to get in.

Conference at a Glance
When: Friday, January 11, 2013, 8:30am-4:30pm
Where: San Francisco State University, 1600 Holloway Avenue, Humanities Bldg., Room 303
Who: Ethnic and community media, nonprofits interested in producing media. We welcome beginners!
Registration Fee: $25, includes workshops and morning refreshments. Lunch is on your own.

You'll be able to choose from a selection of 14 workshops, taught by leading experts in multiplatform journalism.

Renaissance Journalism
Renaissance Journalism, a project of San Francisco State University's Journalism Department, experiments with bold, new approaches to news and storytelling, reimagining the media as a vital source of education, engagement and empowerment for underserved communities. Created in 2009, Renaissance Journalism provides training, technical assistance, consultation and small grants to journalists and organizations that share our passion for media innovations that spark positive social change. Renaissance Journalism operates in partnership with ZeroDivide.
ZeroDivide is a funder, thought partner, and capacity-building organization working to transform underserved communities through the strategic use of technology in ways that increase economic opportunity, civic engagement and healthy outcomes.
Dear Attendees:
By now, you should have received an email (from us through EventBrite) with all the conference details, including parking instructions, campus map, etc.
A few reminders:
- Conference is at SF State, 1600 Holloway Avenue in San Francisco
- Go to the Humanities Building, Third Floor, Room 303 for check-in
- Plan to park in the campus Parking Garage on the top floor. You'll need $6 in exact change. Street parking is limited and restricted.
- Some workshops are on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Bring your laptop, smartphone, audio recorder and publication, if you have them.
